Ghost of Tsushima is a 2020 epic action-adventure game developed by Sucker Punch Productions and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The player controls Jin Sakai, a samurai on a quest to protect Tsushima Island during the first Mongol invasion of Japan.

This game has all the elements that made Assassins Creed popular. The world is beautiful, the combat is responsive and allows you to adapt your own fighting style.

In case you are just hearing about the upcoming sequel Ghost of Yotei ( The Onryo’s List game trailer) and are wondering about giving the first entry a try, we got you covered.

This game (Ghost of Tsushima) is a masterpiece. This game has all the elements that made Assassins Creed popular. The world is beautiful, the combat is responsive and allows you to adapt your own fighting style. Those aspects allows you to be lost in the world being built, you want to explore, enemy engagements feel like they matter, and there is no real inventory management to break you from the experience.

What I found to be compelling part of of Jin Sakai (the main character) is him being a honourable Samurai and having to come to terms that he may have at times do dishonourable things to protect his honour. This is perfectly showcased in your players progression and skills.

After a while, you begin to believe yourself as the now infamous “Ghost of Tsushima” as you complete your plans and learn of the impacts of the invasion set during play through and your character starts to understand he isn’t just fighting for himself. Personally, one of my favourite parts of Ghost of Tsushima are the random standoffs. Being able to quickly cut down your foes like an old samurai movie was always thrilling. There is a bit of randomness to each encounter, you foes will try to get you to flinch. But, if you can keep your nerves cool, it can end in a few quick strikes.

The Wrap up

In closing: This is a must have if you collect video games. If possible, the Directors cut provides you with the Iki Island story expansion as well as the multiplayer mode. Both add a great value to an already classic.

Rating = Must Have
